Paris Ethical Fashion Show 2006 debriefing

HISTORY

SoiWat had selected this fashion show because of its excellent reputation in terms of integrity, and visibility of the designers presented. The target audience was made up of culturally aware European trendsetters, as well members of the media, buyers and sustainability and fair trade specialists (attendence in 2006 was around 6000). SoiWat took the opportunity to present Thai designers at this event, and this was the first time a strong Thai presence attended the show.

Considering the very down-to-earth nature of the Ethical Fashion Show, SoiWat recommended its partner brands to participate the Show. Not only the objective was to build awareness for individual brands and inherent brand spirit, but as the SoiWat mission states, for Bangkok as a hub of contemporary fashion design. We were confident Thai designs would impress the European audience, and provide it with a first hand experience of contemporary Thai refinement and sensitivities.

More samples were displayed onthe boothesSoiWat organised, furnished and attended Four boothes for the participating brands, namely: Mae Fah Luang Foundation, Headquarter, Vickteerut. Theatre, Munchu's and Legend where showcased on the SoiWat's booth.

THE PLACE

The event took place in the "Espace Tapis Rouge" in Paris.

This building is very auspicious for this kind of event as it was back in the 18th century one of the first luxury shopping mall in the French Capital. The building was used to cover the all block but only a small part of it remains. Still, as one can see on the pictures below, the place still keeps a certain aura of its past magnificence.
