Born in Suratthani in 1977,Suppapong Sonsang first studied Product Design at Silpakorn University in Bangkok (1994-1997), and furthered his master degree in Visual Communication Design at the same university (1999-2003). He set up his studio Redbox in 1999 in Bangkok and has worked with many of prestige Thai manufacturers such as Hygge for furniture, Jazzy for gift items, Panya for decorative objects, Heineken for promotional items. He is also a partner of Tazana, the lighting design studio of Thailand. He has also been teaching Furniture Design at Bangkok University since 1999. Constantly researching, he currently studies Northern Thai woodcraft which uses special carving technique such as in temples decorations, and is adopting these techniques to develop further his furniture.

In 2005, Suppapong and Microtek Products Co Ltd. created the brand Tazana.

Tazana means perspective in Thai. Like nature creating beauty in an unrepeatable manner, Suppapong's striking lights are not static. Here technology meets handicraft and improvisation. Yours. While many designers insist on using standard patterns and materials in their final goods, Suppapong Songsang sees things differently. He believes that a design should not have a static meaning, but that its beauty depends on the individual's point of view and attitude. "Tazana" means that, although people may view the same basic design, they may discover different meanings and see different aspects within it.

Inspired by broken eggs, foliages, stem cells, blossoms, Suppapong's creations are more than organic, a quotidian promise of spring…

A limited edition of Suppapong Sonsang is shown in Europe at GMT+7 art&design Gallery, 258 Chaussee d'Ixelles, 1050 Brussels, Belgium . Contact: +32 484 435 602. gmt7gallery@gmail.com.
